About Ultragas ApS

Ultragas ApS is an owner and operator of highly specialized vessels for transportation of LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gases) and petrochemical gases.

The company has years of experience in this demanding segment of shipping, and its total fleet today counts 16 units of between 3500 cbm and 20,700 cbm, all built in the interval 1988 - 2012. The company took delivery of one LPG/Ethylene new building of 6,800 cbm in November 2012 and will be taking the second 6,800 cbm LPG/Ethylene new building in first quarter 2013. Both will be operated by UNIGAS International in Rotterdam.

The company has furthermore placed order for one 12,000 cbm LPG/Ethylene with option for one further for delivery in 2014/2015. All vessels will be entering the UNIGAS International operation.

The Fleet
14 units are of a "semi-refrigerated" design, with 10 vessels able to carry products at temperatures down to -48 degrees C. Further 4 units have the ability to cool products down to -104 C enabling them to carry Ethylene and 2 units are of the "pressurized" type and able to handle tank pressures of up to abt. 18 bar.

Marketing
11 semi-refrigerated vessels of the “Happy”-class have all been entered into the UNIGAS International co-operation for marketing and commercial management.

UNIGAS has been a leading high quality operator of semi-refrigerated gas carriers for 40 years and today manages a modern fleet of abt. 30 units in worldwide operation out of its head office in Rotterdam and a subsidiary organization in Houston.

The 2 pressurized vessels of the “Lady”-class have joined the "Unigas International” operation, which counts abt. 15 pressurized units primarily operated in the South East Asia/Far Eastern area, and which is commercially managed out of Hong Kong.

The 3 “Ocean”-class 20.000 cbm semi-refrigerated vessels are all commercially operated in-house.

In June 2012 the Ultragas Group has consolidated their handygas activities in Ultragas offices in Copenhagen. The company will perform the commercial operation of the Group's fleet of gas carrier in size from 15000 cbm up to 22000 cbm. Ultragas will in addition perform commercial management for external vessels in the handygas segment. From April 2013 Ultragas has taken the Sloman Ariadne 20700 cbm built 2011 on time-charter. The fleet today consist of 8 units enabling the operation to provide reliable and timely service to our customers.

Crewing and Technical Management
Crewing and technical management has been entrusted to Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement, Newcastle and Poland for the semi-refrigerated vessels, whereas the pressurized vessels are handled by Star Management of Tokyo. Both companies have a long experience and a very good track record in the technical operation of gas carriers and employ well trained and experienced crews.
